This project is located in Hintonburg, a district just west of downtown Ottawa. It is a neighbourhood that is changing rapidly and attracting exciting new architecture and a diverse mix of residents. The neighbourhood is ideally located to live a car-free lifestyle with access to public transit and city bike routes, resulting in an enviable walkability score. The main thoroughfare through the neighbourhood, Wellington Street, has become a destination for shopping, dining and entertainment. The homes are within walking distance to two new stations for the LRT system. In an effort to create a sense of place, UrbanForm commissioned a mural by artist Arpi for a large non-descript concrete wall opposite the homes. We worked again with Colizza Bruni Architecture to create four energy efficient, beautifully designed homes for urban living. The decision to build our second project in this area reflects our commitment to build within an established community.
